What you get

One application to Google for Nonprofits unlocks two things: the free Workspace nonprofit tier for your whole staff, and Ad Grants, which covers up to $10,000 of Google search advertising every month. Verification runs through Goodstack and fiscally sponsored projects without their own 501(c)(3) do not qualify. Budget ongoing time for the ad account — Ad Grants has monthly performance rules and lapsing them gets the account paused.

How to redeem

  1. Confirm your organization holds its own 501(c)(3) status (or group-exemption affiliation) — fiscal sponsorship alone does not qualify.
  2. Apply at google.com/nonprofits and complete Goodstack verification.
  3. Activate Google Workspace for Nonprofits from your admin console once approved.
  4. Activate Ad Grants separately, set up conversion tracking, and keep the account above the monthly 5% click-through floor.

Worth knowing

Charitable arms/foundations of hospitals and philanthropic arms of schools ARE eligible (exclusion applies to the operating entity only). Ad Grants ongoing compliance: 5% account-level CTR monthly (2 failing months = deactivation), conversion tracking, org-owned HTTPS domain, no AdSense/affiliate content. Group-exemption affiliates of a 501(c)(3) central org qualify.
