Free for eligible nonprofits

Verified Aug 2026

Eligibility requirements

  • Open to registered charities (any country).
  • Not for lobbying groups, political orgs, religious orgs, K-12 schools, colleges & universities, government, hospitals, health insurers, private foundations or fraternal & social clubs.
  • The deal applies per workspace.

Not sure you qualify? We'll check for you.

What you get

Slack upgrades one workspace to the paid Pro plan at no charge when it has 250 members or fewer; larger workspaces and the Business+ plan get 85% off instead. Charitable-status checks go through TechSoup and usually clear in about three days. The benefit applies per workspace, so each workspace your org runs needs its own application.

How to redeem

  1. Set up a free Slack workspace for your organization if you don't have one.
  2. Submit the Slack for Nonprofits application with your workspace URL and charity details.
  3. Wait about three days for TechSoup validation.
  4. Accept the upgrade: free Pro at 250 members or fewer, or 85% off Pro and Business+ above that.

Worth knowing

Validation via IRS, local charity commission, or local TechSoup Global partner (multi-path — enum holds only primary path). Discount is per workspace; each workspace needs its own application. 'Organizations attempting to influence public opinion' is an exclusion broader than lobbying. Religious orgs excluded when promoting affiliation/dogma as core mission or in exchange for services.
